Virtual tours - What is Quicktime VR (QTVR)?
While you are reading this page, it is downloading a QTVR panorama, constructed from 18 individual photographs taken inside of the Delta Atrium of the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and "stitched" together to form a continuous 360° loop.
Quicktime VR is "portable" and cross-platform. For example this QTVR panorama measures 400 x 316 pixels in size, and yet is only 250K. It could be made available on CD-ROM or internet website or any type portable disk for your sales staff or customers. (Internet download times can be affected by the speed and quality of your connection.)
When the QTVR panorama displays below, you may click and drag your mouse inside the image to see the 360° view, just like you're standing there -- Look left and right! Look up and down! Zoom in and out! Just like you're standing there! (Hint: you can also use your keyboard arrows keys to pan the image or your shift key to zoom in -- just click inside the image first.)

Quicktime VR can be an affordable and effective way to showcase any interior or exterior space for your customers to see. Clickable "Hot Spots" can be added to provide cross-linked navigation to other QTVR panoramas or website URLs. |
Contact me for more information about creating and using QTVR for your website or CD-Rom project. I am always available for questions, answers and follow-up interviews with others. Thanks for your time and interest. Please let me know if I may help your company implement your web site or any other business communications needs.
